'71 Bufori Madison sale price question

Hey =) I am brand new to the board and have been referred here by a friend, as I am currently looking to sell my 1971 Bufori Madison, fitted with a 1600cc, 4 cylinder Volkswagen engine and 4 speed manual transmission.

It is the same car as seen here in a similar listing, albiet mine is black with a silver trim along the sides, and with red seats.

I was looking for advice from people who know what they're talking about with VW's, and just how much (and perhaps where) I could consider selling this vehicle for?

Cheers,
Kristof

Yes, I am. I'm assuming that you've probably seen the car around town before?

thank you for the welcome :D

Ah cool, well I'm not too sure where to start on a price, that's why I am here asking those with a bit of experience for VW's.

We're doing it up a bit more before selling as well, so the car is fitted with a new clutch, new brakes and a new electric fuel pump, engine has also been checked and is in good condition.

Sorry about the late reply, but this is the only picture of it that I currently have, taken about a month ago and the car is unchanged since. =)

Not sure on how much to ask for as a selling price just yet, as the car is still getting a new fuel pump installed and needs a little more detailing work, though I was just curious as to how much value would be put on it by those more knowledgeable on VW's, such as the readers of this forum.

Thats cool , i like it slightly rat rod , i hate the choice of wheels Bufori's came with , i would have to opt for some bigass lowrider multispokes 17+in:borg:

OK............................. he says in a weary voice

There was one on Car Point about a week before you posted
Cant find it now and assume it has sold.
Cant remember - but pretty sure it was in Sydney
It was certainly a major town
It was white and looked in pretty good nick
It had the better gauges they changed to in about 93ish
Was still VW powered - not subaru

Anyway.............that was $16k
Yep - i thought it was a bargain at that price

Early = bad
Later = better
from what I remember anyway. they all got subarus at the end. a mate of a mate had one. niceish car, but could never sell it. so keep that in mind too. they are not all that desirable in the bigger scheme of things amongst the main VW scene. think of them as a manx with a flashy body. personally, I wouldn't pay more than $12k for one, and it would need to be pretty special for that money.

p.s. be nice to see one with a WRX motor or monsta stroker. could really embaress some peops at the lights.

Gday Mate, my original English GP Madison is insured for 30k so I would be chasing atleast 20k for your black Bufori Model.. Hope this helps..
