Don't know about Classic VW but I have used Vintage Vee Dub in Campsie for many years and have never once had a problem. Boris and Michael are extremely knowlegeble and helpful and I have had extremely great service from them, and they have put in extra effort when I needed a particular hard to get part. I live in the Snowy Mountains and still get my stuff the next day.

My Son drove down there on Easter Saturday and He was closed
4 hour trip... 4 hours back...

He drove down again last week and the VW shop was mostly a Cement statue and pavers shop
and not much VW stock..
maybe He is getting sick of selling VW parts...??

My Son told Him about coming down at Easter and George said sometimes I close for two weeks and sometimes 3 weeks

VOLLKS.COM is looking better and better...

Ordered my luggage compartment rust repair panel from George @ CVD..replied to all my emails and posted the panel promptly. Very courteous over the phone and in emails..I have never had a problem with CVD. Perhaps people these days just WANT..WANT..WANT and are impatient?..just my 2 cents..I think people should be reasonable and give and take..after all we are only human and so are the people that run these businesses..They have shit days too you know..(this is just a general statement that is not directed to anyone)..

I have had no problems dealing with George other than him not answering the phone.
I understand some getting frustrated .
I just ordered a full TMI interior door card set and drinks tray partition panel, I got quotes from others but George is 25 - 30 5 cheaper.
Same for most of his gear.

Worth wile being patient I believe.

Not all things listed on the site are available straight away. George sources most parts from the U.S and shipping has been slower than normal from the U.S to Australia lately. There are things that we have ordered and will have to wait for because of this. Some things are out of his hands, but he does his best.

We persisted because we are long time customers and I know it's appreciated by him. Agreed frustrating if you are impatient like me, but worthwhile all the same. Keep calling!

i refuse to call when you order online, simply because you ordered ONLINE.

you should never have to call up to 're-order' or 'remind' the seller to post your purchases. its bad business

I've never ordered online, always call and speak to the man. That way you know if it's in stock, and if not, a rough ETA. Seller can't post something that isn't in stock. Old fashioned service like a phone call tells you everything, never assume and past judgements. Never trusted online ordering, if I do, I usually follow it up with an email at least to ensure it's worked.

Hi
George wouldn't be getting most of stuff via air freight as the cost would be too great...
that is probably why they still haven't arrived..
most likely in a container...

I'm sure he is fully aware of what is being said on AVD Lee.

I've never had a drama with CVD. Hard to get hold of on the phone yes, but keep trying and you will get through.
Tried other stores which can't seem to get anything right so we stay with CVD.
Yes he is a 1 man band. to keep cost down
Yes shipping is slow comes by boat to keep costs down.
You guys want everything now. Pay the extra $$ and have it now. but i am happy to stay with CVD to suport a VW business that opened it's doors to bring part pricing down for us enthusiast.
Ash is right when she says that you can't beat ordering direct over the phone, because you do get a more Precise idea of when your product will get to you.

George is aware of what is being said as I had a heart to heart with him, and honestly let him know what is being said and peoples opinions.

If there are things we need instantly we go to Mick Motors, but most big ticket items George has or will get in stock. People are so quick to criticise. If he were to put on help with the shop, packing, posting and website database updates, guess what? His prices would go up and then there will be a whole new thread of whingers complaining how the prices have gone up and they are all going to buy from the U.S now, blah blah blah. One thing i've learnt, you can't make everyone happy. For George being a one man band with the occasional volunteer help, he's doing a freakin' fine job with making a majority happy.

Sure, we dont get hold of George first go, second go, maybe even third go, but we persist as i know the chances are there is someone like us he is talking to on the phone already, or in his shop, or packing their order. He isnt sitting in a corner like some stores ive been in where the shop assistant couldnt care less that you are even there. He gets around to answering our emails with great prices for us, and we end up talking on the phone which is always lovely with George.

He has a lot of time for us in his busy day when we talk, so we make the time for him.

Okay, I take back all my issues with Classic.

I have just taken a look and the one thing that I really recommended was the inclusion of shipping prices.
Boom, they are now there on each item, and I am loving life.

My deck lid stand offs should be here too. Great turnaround.

Yes,
Pricing on websites does help a lot and its why the BIG VW shops in the USA all have them...

but cheap pricing can also mean cheap parts from Brasil - Mexico-Taiwan or China...

If there was a major brand from any of these countries that did make Good Quality parts that do actually fit....
it would make life much much easier...

BUT

I have never seen prices as low before George and CVD came along....

as Ash said... He is Very Busy and still basically a one man Shop
so the prices are still Low...

Agreed!

However, I think it was the issue that happened with myself that made George add the shipping cost.
I didn't have enough on my card as I only transferred enough to cover the cost of the item, so it declined.

I digress, shipping is definitely cheap!
