What Type of Vehicle is this? VW?

Hi Guys
This vehicle has a VW emblem on the bonnet and a VW engine.
Can someone please tell me what type of vehicle it is.
Thanks

That's a Country Buggy. An Australian Volkswagen. Google it, and you will see.

Hi

Something is funny here, how come you posted this question in the Country Buggy section if you didn't know what sort of car it was?

Do you have any more pics of it? There is a "KO" number just behind the fuel tank we'd all like to know what it is.

The KO number is the number stamped on the body under the front bonnet. It is something totally different than the VIN/chassis tag attached on the body on the driver's side of the interior at about knee height.
CBs are generally identified here at the forum by their KO number rather than their VIN number.

I dont know anything about this CB unless it is one I have recorded without a KO number.
If it is new it is the second unknown CB that has come to light over the past 10 days so they are still out there. The Gunnedah .one that Tick turned up with at Valla was new as well.Am waiting on some details of the other CB and will make some photos available as well.
If you want to see a pretty good resto have a look at the Gallery at KO494. It has recently been finished over in the US and is a real head turner. Not sure how or when this vehicle made it over to the US but it has been there for a number of years already.

I have recently updated the CB Register and am just waiting for it to be uploaded onto the website.

Hi Guys

It'a been a while. I finally got out to the property where this buggy is and took some more pics. Sorry I could not find a KO number due to the chop it has had and the rear tray. I took a photo of the compliance plate.

Cheers

The KO number should have been under the bonnet, under the spare. Did you move the spare to look?

Bugger

I never looked under the spare tyre area. I will try and ask if the property owners can have a look (if its not too late. They were going to cut it up and scrap it).
Same with the kombi in one of the background shots. Shame to have them scrapped.
The kombi has no rust and a running 2 litre. The back of the kombi doesn't have a walk through area. Behind the seats goes from one side to the other ??????

The KO number is on a small tab welded on here, in the red oval. They weren't very well stamped so they have to be looked at very carefully.
That CB is quite a good example. It's got a lot of metal missing but that's the easy bit. It's got the correct seats, steering wheel, horn, front & rear running gear, wiper shafts, all the rare stuff is there. For goodness sake don't let him scrap the thing, that would be tragedy in the extreme.
Cheers
Tony
