63 beetle indicators on a 66
Quick question,
Would 63 beetle front indicator assemblies fit on 66 guards? I have the indicator assemblies that came with the car, period correct wider ones with
the clear plastic lenses, But I am interested in using the slimmer 63 ones.
I have found that Cip1 are doing them for $15 Us each, and I'm looking at some on ebay, but I'm just wondering if they will fit in the holes in the
guards.
Thanks

Yes they fit. But the '64-'67 guards, with the wider blinkers, have the mounting holes further back and further out by a few cm. So the narrow
blinkers will sit slightly further back and further out.

Yes they fit the holes,
but they sit outwards more than the early blinkers...
further away from the body..
but not many people will notice...lol
I would... lol

Awesome.
Thanks guys.
I can deal with them sitting a little further away. I bought repro wide clear lenses for my original blinkers and they were slightly too wide - making
them sit funny.
I prefer the slim look anyways, so thanks.

That explains why the blinkers sit too far foward on my '66!
Years ago, I advised the panel beaters to use my Dad's 1960 Beetle (narrow blinkers) as a reference for the location of the blinkers on my car.
Tuffnt, I may have to copy your style!

Hi
there are two different shaped wide blinker lens and chrome covers..
I haven't seen the "other" shaped chrome bits on cars here
but have seen the "other" lenses.. where You need to cut a piece off the edges of the "other" chrome tops to make the "other " lenses fit...
