F/S Newcastle SAAS Seat

One only Saas Australia Seat in black fabric (sort of like a course corduroy) never been fitted to a vehicle though it has a couple of very small imperfections incured during storage, no stickers, tags etc for ADR aproval, though I doubt if SAAS would produce anything that would not comply. Fully adjustably back. Missing the small plastic infill for the adjusting knob, has sepparate lever for tilting mechanism.
$100.00 negotionable

Raf, it is 540mm at the widest part of the seat (the part you put your bum on) the base under the seat is 430mm wide and the bolts in the bottom are 300mm centers across and 330 mm centers front to back. Hope these measures are what you are after, if not let me know.

The older fixed back seats are about that narrow. Like these:

eBay Link

But I'm yet to find any recliners that narrow. :(

Free bump for a nice seat anyway.

Criky mate what are you putting it in, I had a real headache finding seats for my buggy and the ones I eventualy found to fit are 500 wide with enough room for the hand brake, 400mm would hardly fit you bum on it.

sheeet, this seat is a real nice seat, close enough to new, but not good enough for that piece of heaven, bloody nice looking ride. (also there is only one, what would you do for the passenger?)

Love the Spyder!

Finding tiny seats is a common problem with Mokes. I'm about to remove some 45cm wide low-backs of unknown origin from my Moke.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v662/bnicho/mopoke/20080709048.jpg

I will be replacing them with SAAS buckets trimmed in the same colour scheme, like the ones in the eBay link above.

Early Mini low-back seats may suit the Spyder too? Although they are not real comfortable.

If the chassis is pre-1969 you should be right.

look very much like the ones I took out of the buggy, I went for high backs out of a MX5, if those ones of yours are the same as my old ones then they are very uncomfortable unless you have a very narrow bum, mine always grabed me across the bum and I don't carry too much excess weight. don't wory about highjacking, all's good if you can get good seats, keep your eys on this thread as I did track down some new seats that I almost bought, I'll see if I can find the details.

http://www.cobraseats.com/clubman.htm
Nearly bought a set of these, they were the only ones I could find (other that MX5 as it turned out) that would fit into my buggy.
I've seen them in the flesh, damned nice seats

The clubman were the ones I was looking at.

MX5 seats are commonly used in Mokes. But they have to be from an NA (slightly narrower first model), are a very tight fit and have to be swapped Left to Right or the recliner mechanism fouls the sill.

MX5 seats have the added advantage of headrest mounted speakers, but they are pretty poor quality.

Hm, the ones I got haven't got the speakers, at least they arn't visible to me, my recliner mechanism fouled the roll bar so I removed it and replaced it with a steel plate cut and fitted so that the back was at a rake that I worked out to be comfortable, slightly more laid back than the existing buckets.

It may pay to track down a supplier as I think they had narrower ones but I was looking for the widest I could get that would fit the car, I think they had narrower seats, but it was a while back.
