The best our 1800 bus with twin carbs got about 10L/100K on the highway when tuned right.

About 12 around town when going easy, but usually about 15.

That's not too bad, my Type 3 Squareback nearly did that, more like 9.5l/100km on the highway and 12.5 in town.

I will add that our bus had a 2 litre gearbox, which gives a lower revving highway ratio.

Now with the Subaru 2.2, we get 9.5 on the highway and 12 around town.

About 14 l/100 k around town (2.0 litre), around 20 smiles/10 km around the beach....
