Kombi Box id number
I have a kombi 3 rib 1600cc g/box with CE118 id #. I have very limited knowledge of these so could someone tell me what the CE is ??
I read the CA = normal ratio.
CB=mountain ratios
CC=normal/limited slip
CD=mt/limited slip.

CE is normally just a 1600 or 1700 bus box with 5.375 crown wheel and pinion.
1700 have a longer input shaft end.
Most CE's have ears on the top of the bell for mountings.
Some had the stronger 5.429, but the CE code does not confirm nor deny this.
Most have 0.82 forth ratio.
My hand written notes say
CE is aged between the CA code (for the first of the 1600 boxes),
and CK for the late ones, which were just before the 1800 boxes(CM).
Most of these boxes have been apart snce the early 1970s so this is not a confirmation, just a guide.
