Help identifying early guards?
I think these guards are for my '56.
ie
Front – Headlamp electrical pipe/housing support has oval retaining washer
Rear - Two tail light bracket holes above electrical wire hole
and - raised imprints along mounting flange.
Any more clues?

I have a 56 , 57 , 58 beetle and they all look the same to me no blinker on front or rear guards.

They are correct - steel wiring tube on the front, swages between mounting holes on the rear. Beautiful
Cheers, Greg
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
