WTB & Need diagrams and tie rod end fastenings for bugs. (69' model)
I stored my old tie rod ends safely with the fasteners/locks ... but unfortunately too safely.
i can't find em...
Would anyone have a spare set of the locking hardware to suit a 69' model bj bug? Its just to hold the tie rod end onto the tie rod itself.
What do they even look like? whats involved? any pics? its been so long since i played with them.
thanks, any help always appreciated.
Chris.

Tie rod ends should just thread into the tie rod basically.
Then on the short (driver side) rod you'll have two U-clamps, each with an M8 bolt, nut and a lock/tab plate (or maybe a nyloc nut).
On the long (passenger side) rod you have the same U clamp setup on the wheel end and a double nut affair steering box end... one nut is threaded onto
the tie rod end, the other has a conical hole through it and sits captive between against the tie rod to act as a jammer.
