Lowering spindles
guys say my country buggy has the original front suspension, could i use the lowering spindles kp/lp used on early beetle?
or just put a front beam from a donor beetle?
i do have an extra pair of kp/lp lowering spindles, dont know if they will work on a country buggy

You can probably run just normal beetle spindles. I think the only difference that you'd want to check out is the Link pins might be a different
diameter from memory.
And if you want to sell your country buggy spindles dibs on them!!

yep CB's have (origionally) splitty arms and link king pin spindles, so if you want it lowering, swap the arms etc for standard bug ones and it
should go down a couple of inches (weird why suspension height and tyres are still measured in inches, just a thought!)

Jon is of course right. The trailing arms are same as Type 1 and will take beetle link pins. The whole type 1 king and link pin assembly will go
straight on the arms. This will both lower and narrow the car significantly. You will also need Type 1 outer tie rod ends. The main beam is type 1
(and directly interchangeable) but the CB has some strengtheners around the bump stops.
Most people are trying to get the standard “high” front stubs for their CBs. If you have a set of stubs, and perhaps a beam, for sale they should
be quite popular.

ok thanks for the reply, i was just thinking to replace the whole cb beam to a type 1 beam assembly and add adjusters and drop spindles in the
future...
