The Top Doorslammer drivers are very keen to race on 1/8ths, they have essentially broken away from ANDRA and organised a whole series of non-sanctioned 1/8th mile races on their own. Racing on the 1/8th is possibly the future of drag racing, because there are only about three or four decent quarter mile strips in Australia which can hold a Group 1 car, whereas a Doorslammer can run on almost any 1/8th mile and there are heaps of them in regional areas all over the country. I'd pay to see nitro cars run to half-track at Adelaide International, definitely. We haven't had drag racing in Adelaide for so many years that people are starting to lose hope!

I think you will find they run close to 200mph on a good 1/8 mile track.
That has got to be awesome!!
