Carby setup for 1641 TP?
Any ideas on carby setup for a 1641 balanced, lightened flywheel, mild cam, with good exhaust sys? Not sure if i want to go to go dual setup. I was
hoping to replace the stock 34 with something decent with proven performance and reliability gains. Also are 009 dizzys worth the dosh?
Cheers
Dave

I have dual 36's on the wife's kombi with a 1641cc and on a previous engine in my beetle.
Once you have gone that way you won't go back.

Ahhh..... heard lots of different opinions here
Also I done believe you can get 36's in EMPI world
Lately I have heard that the HPMX are the go...... but I wouldnt hand MY money over until I had seen a set working with my own eyes
Whil we are at parity with the US$ I would be buying a set of DRLA 36's or 40's
$475US or $525US + $38US shipping jetted to your requirements

IMO go Dell's or Webers. 36 IDF's are only available second hand Italian (not that the Spanish ones have trouble) but Dells are available new.

I have got a 32/36 Weber progressive carb but it is a DGAV model - i think that is a water choke model. Is this a problem or can it be modified to
suit? Can you buy the correct linkage set up for a Type 1 anywhere?
If this is all good, i just need to source a manifold for aTP.
Cheers
Dave

dave they work reasonable once jetted to suit but are thirsty. the question is what did it come off.
manifolds theres the trick to making these work.
this style is the better version with the heating jacket all the way up the manifold

I have a DGV 5A which is a manual choke one otherwise it's practically the same as DGAV
it sits on a custom mild steel manifold
I went through all the trouble because i can't afford the better alternative lol
