Rubbers and Grommit seals for a vintage Beetle
Hi.
Where is a good place to purchase rubbers and gromit seals for a 1965 VW Beetle.
I need to replace the rubber seal for my front headlights - I don't want to get some cheap plastic crap - but is there a reputable store here in
Australia which sells them?
I tried buying from the US - but they insist in sending it by DHL or courier - and the freight cost is too high.

You wouldn't just buy one item from overseas. Way too expensive.
Have you tried Volkspower (03) 9808 6777, Volkscare (03) 9729 9281 or Wolfsburg Automotive 1300 370 310.
All in Victoria

On a funny note - I bought a hinge pin from the US. It cost $8. They wanted to charge me $26 to mail it over.
I had the bright idea of asking an Aunt who lives in the US to put it in an envelope and mailing it over. I told her about my predicament and she
agreed to help out.
The cost of doing that would be $3 or $5 by air mail.
So the old dear got the hinge pin - went to the mail shop and promptly sent it over by DHL - it took 2 weeks and it cost US$49 postage.
I was speechless for a week!!
I think she just wasn't thinking - she had just gone to the doctor for a checkup and maybe had been given a sedative or something.

I've tried Volkspower but found the staff not helpful.
I sent my Beetle to Volkscare but he doesn't stock parts - he orders them in from time to time.
Volkshome is good - but its far from my place. And again, doesn't stock it all.
Never tried Wolfsburg - I don't think... are they the ones in Thomastown too?
