Gen. light on

While I was driving home from work, I noticed that the gen light is on but very faded. Only could see it when I dimmed the speedo light totally. Reving the engine up made no difference. It was on while the engine was cold (but reving high because choke was on) then went away. What's going on? Should I clean or replace the brushes? Is the gen. stuffed? Is the regulator stuffed? Battery is 6 months old

sorry nobody has replied to you yet, all I can say isthat I had exactly the same thing with a Lucas setup - could only se it at night & not 100% of the time but it was like that for three years:):):) so I would probably leave well enough alone

Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54 http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l266/Kombikim/avatar1.jpg

I improved the charging on my 76 kombi by taking off the positive wires at the solenoid and cleaning them up with a bit of sandpaper. Probably worth doing to every connection if I had the time.

Make sure you disconnect the battery b4 doing this or you'll be in trouble when the wires hit the body!
