If that is the Tasmanian Country Buggy then talk with the owner, Paul who has been a AVW contributor and enthusiast over many years.

Thanks for the very kind description Bill.Normally I get described as that weird old volkswagen freak with his car collection.I just noticed that the
hardtop & side panels on my buggy are the same as the ones on Bearwins ,as shown on the first picture of his unrestored buggy. How many of that
type have you seen Bill?
p.s. any questions on my buggy ring 0407 296370 or email Paul@famduj.com

Buggy against Bullys
Hi everyone.
It was me who bought this buggy. I am very excited about getting my hands on it and driving it all the way from Tas to Perth (except for the watery
bit inbetween). Huge thanks to Paul for his patience and others who have helped me come to my conclusion. I wanted to drive a vehicle all the way
across Aus to raise awareness for childhood bullying and seek various endorsements etc and its prooving hard. I thought that the CB was an ideal
vehicle to draw attention and provide the platform for raising awareness on the matter of bullying. I will provide more details in the coming weeks
but at this stage all comments, offers of support and discussion on tips and techniques to deal with bullying behaviour is welcome.
I have a dream that one day we will be able to have Buggy's against bully's day australia wide!

Steve,
Now that is some drive from Tasmania to Perth. I offer the suggestion to be sure to take a good sized cushion or piece of foam as those CB seats can
feel like a bed of nails on a long drive. Maybe that something to do with my size.
You plan is a good one with many stops and not asking the CB to undertake 1000 kms in a day.
I also support your plan to raise the awareness of bullying. Why only yesterday we lost the life of a teen here in Sydney as a direct result of cyber
bullying.
Love the concept of "Buggys against Bullies"

HI Bill
I would like to inform Steve that the seats were well padded by Brad (motor trimmer genious) with extra foam ,springs etc. so are as comfy as any
beetle seat.As for extra luxury I can throw in some sheep skin cover which is better than the vinyl on a hot day.I hope that forum members will
support and follow his trip as it is for a good cause.

Thanks Bill - fine advice indeed. Another sad ending for a young life because of bullying - it really is so sad and yes that girl was somebodies
daughter sister lover whatever. It really makes the trip all the more worthwhile... more on that in the coming days when work settles down a bit. I
have a growing list of things i will need to take on the journey but first cab will be a jerry can of fuel on hand that is for sure - especially
without a fuel gauge!
Paul - i appreciate the offer for the wool skin but i suspect i will be putting it over me rather than keep the seat warm! i plan to drive in Sept so
i suspect it will be cold!
Appreciate the words of support - i am sure to be needing it. looking forward to the drive and the meetings with remarkable people.

Well D day is approaching.
I plan to arrive in Launceston on the 5th Sept courtesy of a pick up from Paul who has held on to the CB for all this time - loveingly!. Stay the
night in a fly fishing lodge (sounds good already) - buy a few odd and ends and get the parts organised as well as the GPS!! Plan thus far is get to
the ferry @Devonport and make my way to Melbourne - hopefully i wont spew on the ferry
after that the journey is as follows
Day 1: Melbourne to Apollo Bay to Port Fairy Distance 400km Approx
Day 2: Port Fairy to Grampians National on to Halls Gap to Park Penola Distance 430km
Day 3: Penola to Adelaide Distance 422km
Day 4 Adelaide - Port Lincoln (650km) oh yeah a big one!
Day 5 Port Lincoln - Ceduna: 400km
Day 6 Ceduna - Eucla: 500km
Day 7 Eucla - Norseman: 713km plus 190 to Kal ??
Day 8 Kal to Perth 600km
If all things work out i will then make my way on the weekend of the 17th Sep for a beer near my near the beach. I will post the bit about bullying
over the next day or two too!
ALl comments and advice welcome.

Steve
Let us know the dates of each day, perhaps even some times. There’s a small (not running) CB community, and larger general VW community in Whyalla.
We’ll be here to support you as needed on Day 4. I’m sure there will be people for each day. Good luck.
