engine swapping

Does anyone know if a 1970 beetle 1500 engine will fit straight into a 1962 beetle ?
I assume it will eventually, but will it need modification ?
Does 1200 engine tin fit on a 1500 ?
Are there any other hurdles to overcome ?

1. The motor will not go straight in.
2. It will fit with some mods.
3. Fan housing is the same but that's where it ends.
4. Are you running 6 or 12 volt?

car is 6v, but if I go this way I would change to 12V
I have heard that the 1500 is wider than the 1200 ?
