Early T3 rear brakes
I'm fitting early wide-5 rear brakes to my Karmann cab beetle and I've got the backing plates and drums from a wrecker. The guy didn't
have the brake hardware (springs/handbrake lever etc). Can anyone tell me if these are the same as early Kombi ones, or beetle ones?
also is the rear wheel cylinder T3 specific, or the same as a T2 or beetle one?
Thanks
Steve

well
The Type 3 5 stud rear brakes were as far as I know different from kombi and all others. They had there own sized wheel cylinders and all. I run kombi
wheel cylinders with type 3 shoes and springs. The CB fronts where the same as the kombi fronts if that helps.

matra, i have yet to get to this stage myself, but i've read that early and late T3 stuff is interchangeable. the article (an older volksworld)
said that you could use late backing plates with your early drums. though i'm not sure if this meant the complete late kit with early drums or
mixed and matched stuff.
