Reasonable chroming price in Brisbane?

Ok so I've heard that the price of chroming in Brissy is stupidly expensive. Is this true?

have original dash pieces and orig bumpers that I'd prefer having a good quality chrome put on instead of the expensive yet shite Brazilian chromed parts ;)

Prices for all chroming in all cities is stupidly expensive as the process is labour intensive and time consuming, if you are going to attemp chrome plating any die cast parts be aware that it might no be successful as it can blow through the plating, if your bumpers are pitted it will require a lot of work just getting them ready to be plated.

modern chroming doesn't require the copper base if using the most up to date methods but if badly pitted then the copper needs to be applied and flatted down until the pits are filled.

Still 350 or get some stainless ones imported from the UK? Hmm, the dash chrome would be nice instead of buying new cos does anyone know if the new stuffs any good in quality.

I think you will find stainless is a lot more than $350

I have seen "triple chrome" rust in 3 months and I have seen it last 5 years and still going - all living outside 24/7

The copper does 2 things apart from filling the pits it also acts as a barrier to stop the base metal ( steel ) from rusting

Both the chrome and nickle are actually porous so the copper stops the water getting in

The Stainless Steel bumpers or the ones if have seen are very POOR quality made in Vietnam utter garbage no strength or shape

If you apply a good quality polish to the chrome it will stop it from rusting, , i have triple plated bumpers on the convertable and these have been copper plated but i still apply a polish, all the plating that i have had done is copper plated as part of the process.

Nope. From the UK with the exchange rate and shipping it'll be around $200-250 and those are polished stainless so no rust ever though a lower shine than the chrome but can you trust the chrome after spending so much on it?

Thats the main problem I think?
