Without Australia, does the world have enough coal?

Sick of all these bastards rorting me with oil prices and even shoe prices.

Aussie dollar is flying and still the cheap petrol is around $1.40. There's gotta be some screwing around somewhere. And then there's the bastard countries artificially keeping their currency low to suit their own ends.

Can we get our own back by hanging on to our iron ore, uranium, coal etc? Just for 12 months so that world prices go through the roof. Yeah it will be biting our noses to spite our faces but it will be good fun for a while.

[size=4]Yes,

The Aussie dollar is $1-09 and even hit $1-10 today...

and Yet, Our petrol [at Singapore prices???] hasn't dropped..

but We need to have the carbon TAX ????????

I'm not sure what other countries have coal...
but the ones that do have it, probably cannot deliver it in quantites like We can...

BUT... if the coal mines in the Hunter Valley stopped....
Towns like Singleton-Muswellbrook-Scone- Cessnock etc
would all go broke..

you think its bad here? try Europe. I'm in Altstatten Switzerland atm and its 1.90 Swiss franc per L and that works out to be $2 aussie per L

in the UK its 1.5 pound which equates to $2.25 AUD per L.

Some places in Germany over easter were charging equivalent to $14 USD per L. Yes that's right $14 per L!

what our country needs to do is stop exporting our lpg and buying it back and publicly announce the gas injection system existence.

There is much performance and efficiency gains to be taken advantage of from these systems but our crapy government does nothing to promote or make the public
aware of such systems and that is why lpg has label as being sluggish performer and fuel guzzling. ffs these systems increase power and torque output in nearly all cases. useless bunch

Australia has a shed load of coal. But we are becoming the worlds mine digging up our country and buying it back as finished goods. Bring in the carbon tax and things will get even worse.

As for fuel prices the government doesn't do anything about them as they make so much money from it.

Notice the theme. Thanks Julia and krudd

yeah i agree would be fun, we can be self suficiant with a few minor changes but the big end of town would freak out, what i really hate is not even second staging our iron ore, up in the pilberra there is a great oppourtunity to do it with heaps of natural gas and all the ore but no ones doing it. what a waste!

That's not to bad, it will last over 340 years yet. I'm sure in that time they will have worked something else out.

Love the link you posted also.
