fitting millenium model steerin wheels to 69 bug.

I know it sounds crazy,
but is it possible?
are these stock wheels of 2000 and onwards jetta and golfs just spline mounted like the stock wheel?

I don't know if i want ot go that way yet, i'm just thinking aloud. Some of the street guys might be able to benefit from the air bag in em, don't think its a good idea for an offroader. But was more or less keen on the look.

I'm trying to achieve a kinda 'new rod' kinda look to the baja. Oldskool, but a balanced amount of 'newish' to it. Things like tail lights and head lights have the newish look incorporated, and just gotta make sure its balanced ish, if even possible. :S

the look will probably fall on its arse, but the novalty of a man-size mechano set is the ability to change it :)

kinda answered my own question, but i doubt its the same spline configuration. if i had a lathe with a tooth cutter i could make a female end for the stock steerin wheel
