Ceramic Coating or Hi Temp Wrap Exhaust

Would like to get the Pros and Cons of both for the exhaust system.

My old exhaust was wrapped and I have no complaints. However, the ceramic coating looks Good!

I have to do something to protect paintwork and I guess it will help efficiency of the escaping exhaust.

What is the difference between the alloy coloured and the black ceramic coatings?

Thanks BJ

I've used both and I prefer the ceramic coating.

Exhaust wrap holds the heat in the exhaust better however after prolonged use it causes the metal to fatigue or corrode.

Ceramic coating does help hold the heat in the exhaust it also helps protect the paintwork from radiated heat(just not as well as the wrap(my personal opinion)).
That combined with the better looks of ceramic coating makes it the winner in my view.

With both systems above I had to do some welding on each for different reasons. The wrapped system was very hard to weld as the metal was thin and fatigued however the coated system was easy to weld, just had to grind off the coating where I was welding.

I would second that, if your chasing engine performance or reducing heat coming from the exhaust the wrap is better, if your chasing looks, ease of cleaning and service life the ceramic will be better.
The black will protect the exhaust a little better than silver and does not discolour with oil etc getting on it.

Yep,as above, coat and wrap where necessary. The ceramic is actually way better than the wrap, but both is good for areas of concern, where oil lines and bodywork are close.

Get Col to do it for you. He's at Competition Coatings, and they have an extremely good reputation. They do a lot of race teams coatings from all over the country. Not all coatings are created equal.....CC prepped stuff is WAY better and lasts longer than some of the cheaper coated parts you buy off the shelf.
