karmann ghia's long lost sibling? from BRASIL...
this VW was listed for sale as a 1973 Karmann Ghia from brazil.
aparently the brasilians had a different shape karmann ghia from 1970 onwards known as the Karmann ghia TC (touring coupe)
i have never seen or heard of these ghias before and found it quite interesting.. i wonder if there are any of these in australia
it kinda looks like a notchback mated with a 911

Yes, VW do brasil had their own design teams and so did Karmann of Brasil...
Many excellent VWs were made in the 70s and 80s in Brasil
the Brasilia was an excellent looking miniature 412 VW...
with beetle engine in the rear....
so, actually its an updated Karmann Ghia type 1...
check out the 1968> beetle rear engine lid catch... lol

I personally prefer the SP2, although I think it deserves a large Type IV rather than a 1.7

volksworld magazine have just run a feature on sp2 and the puma
good reading quote brazilians refer to the sp name as sem potenca which translates to without power
but indeed a very pretty car

heres a few photos of a ghia tc I found a while back.
I think it would make an awesome looking car once finished.
