WANTED vw type 3 engine cross bar

Hi,

I am looking for a vw type 3 engine cross bar for an auto.

Apparently factory fitted to automatics to give support.

Hi, I have been researching and manual and auto are the same. The pice I am looking for is bolted onto the engin with 3 bolts just behind the fan shroud to support the engine. Can you post? What sort of price are you after? Cheers, Jeremy.

$30 Sounds great. I'm in Geebung but could travel around and meet up. No hurry for the bar but would gladlt take for $30. I'll send my details with a P.M. Cheers.

If you are doing a conversion on a older notch you will need the mounts on the ends as well.

Thanks mackaymanx,

That's exactly what I am doing. Will I need to weld special brackets for the mounts on the end to attach to? I have an early notch that I want to rebuild with irs running gear.

Cheers.

I IRSed my '65 Notch by getting the irs pivot boxes welded into the swing axle sub frame. Alternately you use the IRS subframe and the IRS engine cross member/body mounts.

The converted swingaxle sub frame only works with the manual transmission, if you are going auto you have to use the IRS sub frame.

Yes you will need to weld the corresponding body mounts into the early Notch to take the engine mount.

Hi! Thanks very much for the info and help!

Bushed, I'll take those 3 mounts you have as well! Please let me know a price when you have time to get the parts together!

Cheers and once again thankyou.
