VW's at Mclaren Vale yesterday

Anyone go,
There was meant to be a lot of awesome cars there. A friend drove through and called me raving.

It was the Worldwide Day of the Beetle cruise, I was there. I was a bit disappointed with the cruise route because it only went for half an hour from Castle Plaza to McLaren Vale, straight down the expressway. Was nice to cruise with some cool Beetles anyway. I didn't go in for lunch with the rest, carried on instead to Meadows for a pie, then Blackwood and Crafers via some nice roads and down the freeway to the city.

Cool, sounds like fun, You would of come right past my house in coro valley. My friend said there was a cool black beetle with red flash and red wheels, also described something that sounded like rod's hot rod. Any pics?

Yeah, the only pics which I got were of the Volksrod, because I've already got plenty of photos of most of the other cars from shows and there wasn't really a good opportunity for a group photo.

I was pretty impressed with the rod, it's one of the best I've seen from a VW. There are things which I would change to suit my taste, but nothing really done 'wrong' on it.

Count me as one to say the taillights are "Wrong"

I've driven down the road with this, and as he has given it some stick out of some corners... the sound doesn't really do it for me either... But a fantastic quality build

The build quality on that rod is awesome.
The question of what to change on it is for me, irrelevant.
It's one of those rare creations that is a complete result. It stands as it is.

It should be for the money spent!
Talk of triple figures on that one.

I don't doubt it for a moment. There's an easy $10k just in the chrome front end! Some interesting features on the car for sure. My friend who is a Honda mechanic recognised the seats as being Prelude, mounted on the wrong sides of the car to flip the control levers to the inside for aesthetics. The tail-lights are not to my personal taste and to be honest I would have a W decklid and pope's nose on it without any louvers, but it isn't my car so I can't nitpick it.
