Wiring...

Well i'm not yet ready for it but i am looking at ordering some parts and considering getting a universal harness with my order.... My question is, would a universal harness be useful for a drag car application? If so, is it something i could figure out myself? Would i be better off just running 2 lots of 7core trailer wire and trying to put it together from that? Has anybody wired their own race car? Any idea of costs for a professional to do it? Recommendations?
Does anyone want to do it for me....

Mick.

yeah have a look at the many buggy wiring diagrams and once you pull it apart in your mind its pretty simple. There is just not thatmuch to it. Besides you can alwYs clarify on here ... But I would recomend getting colour coded wires even if you order a selection of specific colours. It will help you stay on track and make it understandable for others should that occur . You could wire if all up in black coated wire if you wanted

I just used 7 core trailer wire.
The only thing that has changed in 20 years
was a couple of extra thick wires I added when I got the MSD,
but I still dont use all of the 7 core.
YOU CAN DO IT!

The switch cover AND the start push button look the biz :tu:

Also a fuse block and maybe a relay mount for a few relays, Ign, Start and Fuel ......

7 core trailer harness will be plenty of conductors for gauges and general f-r cabling, but also need some heavier cable for starter and pwr circuits.

(another 2c worth :) )
