beetle 1500/1968 model.....seats again
hi,
i am in the process of taking the old original seats out of my beetle 1500....1968 model.
im pretty new to these cars and i am looking to undo the bolts that attach the seat frame runners to the body.....which i believe they do not exist as
they would in a conventional car.
so because of this, am i to assume the seats would just slide back enough and simply detach from the runners?
i could try this now, but i though i would post a question first just in case i might have overlooked something that might cause more grief.
i still havent worked out which front seats to go with to replace the fronts, but i figured i could start by taking the originals out, cleaning up the
rust to the floor pan and by then....i hope to have worked on the choice.
in the mean time if anyone can confirm what i am suspecting with the seat removal procedure?.....much appreciated.
met.
grumble

The seats slide forward for removal, there may be a locking plate that needs to be depressed to allow the seat past the full forward position. This
will be located next to the slide if applicable. The seats are held to the frame by metal clips/tabs that can be lifted after releasing the wire on
the trim and lifting it.
