QLD Dealer Stickers on Oval Beetles
Hey Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any photos of Dealer Stickers that were put on Oval Beetles when sold, preferably in Queensland, but would also love to
see others.
Would like to get some reproduced
Cheers,
Ash

I can't remember a sticker particularly, but VW Motors in Brisbane used to put a metal badge on the firewall of oval-era cars. I'm not sure how
long they did that for. I may have an old photo but sold my last oval years ago. I'm certain someone else has a current car with one, would have
been a few at the show on Sunday most likely.

Hi
Were Lanock motors up there? I have some Lanock stickers but they might be a little to late. They have a blue outline with reflective white
writing.
You could try Warb on here, he can make some pretty amazing stickers, he reproduced a Kamei sticker for me that looks great.

Yeah I will get Warb to reproduce something for me, he just needs "templates" to design it off. He makes all our stickers for us.
Another pic I'm looking for is a copy of the Volkswagen! Sticker which went on the ovals, generally in yellow.

Good idea Ash
Pein Motors, Brisbane Service Motors and Bill Doherty's are the first to come to mind, I know there's more. I have a decklid badge of Brisbane
Service Motors but sorry, no decals.

Is that an original or repro badge Matt? I've got a repro, but not going to put it on as I don't think it looks authentic enough. would love to find
an original.
Awesome info, would love to find out who was servicing the VW community in the mid 50's and what they supplied?

Yep, mines og, but gilded by a mate with white gold for decoration. The original fixing pin is broken off, but I may look at fixing it as my new '60
has the hole in the decklid where the badge should be. Brisbane Service Motors also had the enamaled plaque for the engine bay with the oil details
and thier name on it. My brother has one on his Brazilian beetle.
Here it is when I had a motor of mine installed in the car. Upper LH corner of the firewall insulation tarboard.

Not a great shot, but you get the idea:

Dealer stick from Lanocks Motors from 58 Beetle.
