[FS - QLD] 68 beetle
I am getting rid of the bug as my direction has changed some what since being overseas for a month.
the car is a very solid beast with very little to do..
1968 1500 with a 1600 engine.
i have just put over $6500 into the car in the last few months as the mechanicals were not as i was told. the list of parts replaced are all brand new
unless stated
fuel tank
headlights
all ball joints
steering box
discs and pads front
fuel line
sway bar mounts and clips
motorized washer and bottle
rear light lens
engine and gearbox mounts
rear wheel cylinders
throw out bearng and presure plate
pistons and barrels
heads were striped down and new valves fitted, new seals through out engine when rebuilt. the bottom end seemed in good condiditon so apart from the
main seals it was left while the top was fully rebuilt and new plugs etc were used and the twin P35 carbs were striped and serviced. The engine runs
great with good power for a standard 1600.
Gear box was pulled out inspected and serviced with new seals etc and was flushed and new oil put in.
pretty much everything mechanical has been replaced or serviced and is in top condition.
body works in good condition with very little wrong with it. Drivers door is not very good but a replacement comes with it that is fantastic
condition, the drivers front guard was damaged when i got it and has been quickly repeired and primed so it didnt stand out(was planing a full
repaint).
It has droped spindles on the front and ajustable plates on the rear, gas shocks front and rear, empi t-bar shifter and mags with good tyres
interior is not bad with red cards and rear seats but someone swoped the fronts for grey buckets! still on the original runners so swoping for the low
backs is an easy thing. Hoodlining has a couple of tears but i have a brand new replacement which comes with it.
Everything works and it drives great and will serve someone for many years as it sits.
The only bad point is it rubs on the guards when two adults are in the car or if u hit a bump hard, i was planing to fit a 2 or 4 inch narrowed beam
which will fix the problem. its not bad and its only just scuffed the other edge of the tyre and is not cutting it at all.
It was going to be my sons car but as i say direction has changed so it will not be used.

price offers, now when i say offers i have put 10 grand into this car and allthough i know i will not see a return on my money i don't intend to
give it away.I would be open to a deal on a bay kombi of any orientation as either a camper or ute would be of intrest..
any questions please ask as i am trying to be as honest as i can so noone gets a suprise....
cheers..

drivers replacment door has now been painted but not fitted, depends on time but i'll try to fit it.
After looking around at other cars of this condition and age etc etc the adverage prices seem to be around the 8 grand mark, so i'll put it up for
$7500 and we'll go from there.. all offers/swops/px etc invited...
it really is a good little car now and i welcome any inspections..
