Steering binding near boss? Help please
Hi All, Got the body back on the pan yesterday which is great but small problem there is a grinding sound and feel to the steering at the boss (stock
Wheel) and i am having a little trouble getting the coupling to fit nicely, in the end i loosened the steering shaft nut that holds the T-piece in
near the coupling and that seemed to help.
Problem is the gringing at the steering wheel end. Is there some spacing that i can check/adjust? I cannot remember if this was there before i pulled
it apart as i didn't drive the car than a short trip around the block after i purchased it. Do i need to add a washer anywhere?
Help please as i reallly really want a smooth gliding steering wheel.

Hi
The column should have adjustment on it, have look underneath indicator/ignition switch housing an you will see where its slotted.

As Steve says, column does have some adjustment in it.
Does it grind if the steering wheel is taken off ???
If not then it's likely the cowling around the indicator switch is just sitting back too much, and needs to come forward (down) on the column a bit.
