Watched this show, split beetles for as far as the eye could see. Some classic old VW adds and an interview with Ivan Hurst probably the man
responsible for the Beetle surviving.

There was plenty of historical film there......really worth watching. Bet VW sales were slow for a while in Poland and Holland.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

i WATCHED IT TOO...
VW were trying to play down that VW was started by Hitler..
all beetles made during the war were called prototypes even though they were mass produced...
Most workers at VW during the war were slave labourers
great pics of the autobahn and wartime beetles with hitler in one...
