Well if you want to know the council charges and insurance permits for Boris Picnic day are around $ 400.00 just to get the gate open
Plus the annual club pubic liability insurance fee of around $2000.00
Why don’t you organise a show or event and see what the insurance and rental charges are associate with the venue
I think you will get a shock

Show in Newcastle yesterday free for spectators $10 each car entry, not sure about venue or insurance costs.

$10 or $20 for a day out to see a car show!!!! come on man!!!! thats cheap. Go see a movie and see what it costs!!!!!!!! I think you were stiring the
pot. People put events and swap meets on for us and so many people winge and bitch about prices!!!!!!!!!!!If I were them I would think %#ck it!!!!! go
orginise your own #$it. Im not one for shows but I appreciate the planing that goes into them. Ive said it before. But if a small cover charge to
help a club or organiser out is too much for you, your in the wrong game. Maybe you should get a show going and ill bring my car up for free and my
family can come for free and we will all eat for free and get fuel vouchers so our travel will be free. you could even throw in free rego and
insurance just for sh#$s and giggles.
Just my thoughts. Not trying to stir the pot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually i had 2 cars on display at Cronulla, it cost me $30 per car for 2 days, you also have the option to leave your car their over night with
security to watch them, the organisers also give out a goodie bag with a stubby cooler hat some stickers and a few other different things, on top of
that. There was no charge for spectators.
The Cronulla beach bop is a great event and should be supported, its not just a car show its a great weekend with probably the best venue you will
find. Especially if the surf is working. A very refreshing show with not only cars to enjoy, the retro BMX display was awesome.

"" but just tying to work out where these funds go and if they do go too councils, insurance eg, how do other car shows get away with it ???
"""
That just it i DONT know how other organisations get away with it
Take Rockdale council for example which is where we will hold the Picnic day this Sunday
I have to complete the following
1. request the date with council
2. complete event application form
3. have public liability policy for 20 million listing the council as insured
4. submit a traffic management plan
5. apply for temporary road closures
6. notify local police for gatherings over 100 people
7. submit a risk management plan
8. submit a site plan
9. distribute a letter to local neighbours of the event
10 Pay CAMS for the insurance
11. Pay the council rental fee
all of the above is before we have even bought a bread roll or sausage
Luck i have a great job that allows me flexibility to take this all on and communicate with the local government

maybe these other events are running their own bbq? If you can get enough members to donate their time you can make a killing with enough traffic. You
do have to have your product liability. Buy your cans of drink for 70 odd cents at a supermarket and sell them for up to $3.
Now that we had a kitted out van donated to us half of Wollongong Sporting Car Club profit comes from the barbie. That money used to be made and taken
by rotary or footy clubs. We're charging $90 entry. Walking away with a several hundred bucks profit for the day. This doesnt include any of the
yearly costs which run into the thousands. And because for the last 58 years we've been running at minimum profits to help out the enthusiasts, there
is no money in the purse to do all the upgrades to the surface that are going to be needed in the very near future. Our own kindness has lead us along
a path of impending doom.
Several other clubs have enquired about exclusive track use. When I give them the all inclusive fee they freak out saying how many cars they are going
to have to get down there just to break even, its too big a risk. Welcome to my world buddy, thats what I deal with 6 times a year. 7 if you include
the Nationals supersprint for club vw. I've had people tell me that the economy is tough and we should try to make it cheaper. Its been the same
price for about 6 years! I think people are already getting a good deal. The club christmas party that used to be a freebie to all is now $20/head.
We're sacrificing member benefits for outsiders!
