VWince

Hi all,

Since buying this VW I have not seen, after intensive Google searches, any other that has the "rumble" seat. There are plenty this style "Roadster" or "Speedster" but none with the rear seat.

From what I have found, this bug was built by "Softop Conversions" or as otherwise known as "Sydney Beetle Centre" or "The Beetle Centre", 128 - 134 Parramatta Road, Croydon. I am the 3rd owner.

LOL ... how is your's going?

I had an Engineer around this past Wendsay to assess what needs to be done to get QLD rego approval. Once I get it over to QLD rego, I can actually start doing a bit to it. In the meantine I am sourcing parts new and second hand that i want or need so it should all come together smoothly. QLD Transport dont accept NSW regulations, they are not up to the standard that QLD wants. So they are forcing me to get it all re-engineered even thought its passed and fully rego'ed in NSW since at least prior to 1985.

Peter from Custom Veedub has been a help with good advice and parts.

Is there much to do to meet QLD regs? I'm slowly collecting bits and trying to clearout some room in the shed for mine.
