I have a book titled "CAMPS 6 " it lists camp sites Australia wide, available in 3 versions
1. standard bound paperback
2. standard ring bound
and
3. complete with pics of the camp sites.
It gives all you need to find camp sites including co-ordinates, road maps, and conditions ($, amenities etc) I used it on a recent 3 month excursion from NSW to WA and found it an excellent travel tool and would recomend it to anyone travelling Oz, wether this has the info you are after I'm not sure but it is an excellent book for traveling and readily available in just about any book shop, road house or tourist center and many othyer places, if it is of interest let me know, I have the standard version A4 size about 20mm (1") thick and set me
back around $40.
PS I reckon you will have a ball but don't expect to do too much of Oz in 3 months, try to narrow it down to what you realy prefer to do / see and concentrate on an area that will provide what you really want, help is at hand if you need it.:tu:

Just found this, google is your friend

http://www.exploroz.com/Shop/Books/ExploreAustralia/Camping_Around_Australia....

only 2 reviews on the site, (pasted under) looks like it may be a bit short on info but basicaly the same as CAMPS 6

I have only used the WA section to date and found it of little use especially when seeking free camping sites.

Very useful tool with good directions & local area maps, along with concise info on each site including contact phone numbers. Good value & comparable with other similar publications.

Not seen the book in question, but also used the Camp6 and recommend it, up-to-date advice on free camping grounds and roadside rest stops around the country. I'd get both maybe.....

Guys, thanks for your help and advice, Camp6 seems to be the one to go for, what with the extra rest stops and free camping, soo looking forward to this trip!! I hope to see some bugs when rolling the streets ;) hook ups and pads to crash would be super cool too
