Front crank seal 1600 TP
Been looking for a front crank seal for when I replace my bottom pulley. Does anyone know if an online shop sells them? Looked at a few but no mention
of front seals only rears
Thanks
Dave

Funny reason for that.
There isn't a seal in there, only an oil slinger on the crank.
There is a mod done to fit one for offroad cars better known as a sand seal.

Cheers for that Joel. I was wondering how an alloy pulley would go with seal lip wear issues, sounds like no issues!!! Whereabouts in Northern Rivers
are you? My wifes fam is from Bentley, in between Kyogle, Casino and Lismore. We get down there at least once a year and will end up there eventually.
The uncles 1960/61 Beetle is down there so every cahnce I get I go and try and do some work on it, sux when all my tools are up here

No worries,
The inside hub of the pulley is a very neat fit and has reverse threads cut in them to throw the oil back in the case.
Works well except on offroad cars when the thread fill up with dirt and grit.
I'm on a Macadamia plantation between Lismore and Ballina, been round here my whole life.
Plenty of dubbers in the area too.

There's a local club and a few shows, Ballina street Machines show usually gets a few turn up and it's only an hour to the Gold Coast, plenty of
shows up there through the year as well.
Not that far to Valla and Warwick either.

Hi
You can buy so called "sand seals" as used on sand buggies in the USA. I have never actually seen one.. lol
someone on here had one that was worn out and it throws out a lot of oil when they leak...
unlike the normal No seal .. Many people run alloy pulleys so they do work OK... maybe not as good as the original VW pulley... no one seems to make
anything as good as VW..
the engine can throw a bit of oil vapour out from behind the pulley .
if there is a blockage of the breather pipe.. oil will come out of everywhere it can.. lol
cheers
