empi short shift?

just wondering why ppl fit short shifts, thinking they tighten up the feel of changing gears(feel free to correct me if im wrong), also do they require adjusting? ie should they go from being a tight change back to more a normal type vw gear change?

no because all you do by fitting said item is change the pivot point up on the stick so its only the amount of distance between gears on the shifter that changes while the distance at the box stays the same.. to go back to the standard shift all you do is remove the block and extra pivot point and fit as normal then readjust the shifter to get all gears.
