Borgward/Goliath/Hansa in Aus?
Hi Guys,
I've stumbled across a Hansa 1100 for sale and I am a bit intrigued. Being German I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them?
Anyone own one? How impossible is parts supply?
The one I'm considering:

The "Buckle" badge on the back could be helpful - have a look here:

Also the Borgward Isabelle Club:

Also:
For used parts:

Also, keep an eye on the German eBay site for parts:

I love Borgwards but very hard to own as a project in Oz due to their very small sales here.
I remember in the early 1960s a Goggomobil TS250 Coupe with a Borgward engine raced at Oran Park. Was pretty nippy.
Good luck.

Hi,
The wife's 69 Notch is sharing the garage with my 1959 Borgward Isabella Coupe and my 1958 Lloyd Hartnett Convertible. I've had my Borgward for
nearly 20 years now.
The Borgward/Hansa 1100 as pictured is reasonably rare but they too come up occasionally for sale in Australia. They are very unloved with not many
restored. There is a restored red Goliath in Melbourne that is basically an earlier version of the same car. It will generally be on display at the
Classic Showcase at Flemington in March.
As for parts you need to get all new parts from Germany, although Tony Noonan does have some NOS. Not all parts for the Hansa/Goliaths are available
even in Germany. The Borgward Isabella's are by far the most popular and you can buy pretty much everything on the net for them but at a price.
They are very rewarding cars to own. The engineering in them is quite over the top.
