Modifying the VW

There has been a lot of discussion about 'improving' various areas on the humble VW. It has been suggested the the VW engineers have done a good job designing the various components, and we should leave them standard. Trouble is, we do things with our cars that the engineers could never imagined, and therefore we are constantly looking for ways to improve and upgrade various bits to cope with the sort of treatment that we dish out to them.

It never ceases to amaze me how many ideas come forward to 'fix' all sorts of problems, and 'improve' the original designs. Keep up the good work, all you clever people.:tu:

Raleigh Park was a bit of a flop, as the Beetle was almost un-driveable. By the time I found out what the problem was [broken inlet manifold], it was too late to fix it properly. Sticking it back together with epoxy wasn't very successful, but at least I managed a couple of laps. All welded now, and hope to have more fun at Eastern Creek [buggered if I'm calling it any new name] on the 29th.
