Advice to mount EMPI billet ignition coil mount.

So I'm finally getting round to turning the motor over and i noticed my new fancy (and inferior) chrome fan shroud without heater ducts doesn't have anywhere to mount the ignition coil. A quick google and people were talking about some EMPI billit coil mount. As i needed a few other bits and bobs i threw it in without thinking. Now i have it and I incorrectly assumed it would connect to the fuel pump mount or something, but i cant for the life of me figure out where the hell this is meant to go.

EMPI part 16-7015-0

Have i just purchased another piece of EMPI junk? or am i missing something obvious.

So i thought it might have bolted to the original ignition coil mount on the old fan shroud, but whilst that has one bolt it doesnt have two. This just does my head in :P

Guess its made for some adapter when a cross bar linkage is there.. oh well i suppose I will drill and mount it on the fan shroud or something again.

Fairly sure 12v fan shrouds have two threaded holes to mount the coil

Best option is to use a "captive nut insert". Sent you a PM.

The mount you bought is just the coil mount, used whereever you normally mount a coil. What you need is a coil relocation mounting. I have two available, the cheapo pressed tin version that mounts the coil on the case under the gen/alt or a billet version that will only work when no og fuel pump is used. I don't recommend nutserts as they will eventually fail with the vibration involved with this aplication.
