1955 oval

Hi well i had an interesting day today was told about this 1955 oval thats been in a shed for about 8+ years current owner and around 20+ years in the origanal owners shed that was now up for sale. This thing just seems almost to good to be true origanal sales book, 75000 miles never been welded as no rust and no bog the body was striped and repainted some 8 years ago has all new trim headlining carpets seats redone etc all new rubbers etc it just needs putting back together.
Let me know what you all think does it seem to be a good car? What sort of money would it be worth?

I would think not much more needs to be spent but does need new tyres, battery and bumper bars need to be recromed thats about it. There are dockets for thousands spent on the new uphoulstery for the seats and carpets rubber seals its all there just assemble and go like a big meccano set:smilegrin:

You lucky, lucky bastard.

What a great find. I would easily pay 8k for it if its all there and as good as the photos look. It doesn't cost anything to put back together, so you will have a complete car for 8k (give or take a little).

Yep its all there evan the badge in the steering wheel is like new as are the headlights tailights etc plus an adaptor to fit up to the vw motor so you can start motors when out of the car as well as some extras 4x wheels tail and head lights speedo alltough they are off a slightly later bug:sniffle: and some books on bugs etc:smilegrin: I don't think the photos do the car justice and the shine on the paint is straight off the gun its never been polished.has a new set of running boards as well as the old ones all new engine bay sound deading panels new exhaust pluse the old one with the little end tip on it. I had a mate of mine check out the body and paint as he is an auto paint specialist and gave it a big thumbs up:tu:

Congratulations, but we all want to know how much you paid for this beauty.

I believe buying a new harness off the shelf (so to speak) may be hard as all the ones made OS are for left hand drives.

Top buy mate, hope it all goes together for you, if you buy a new harness they are all Left hand drive, you only need to extend a couple of wires not real hard, I cleaned the paint and crap off of my origional loom as the outer casing wasnt cracked at all and it cleaned up like new,
good luck with her

Fantastic looking find.

Don't use a new harness, if the car is as good as it looks, the og harness will clean up with some thinners, better than a repro anyday.
