The 4WD shop in Adelaide where I purchased my Lokka Diff say they have fitted the 2Lt gearbox to earlier Kombis (1600 1800?). They say that it is the only way a Lokka Diff can be fitted to the earlier vehicles as the parts are not made for the earlier diff. I don't know what if any modifications were done to get it all to happen.

By the way my Lokka is still going fine with many more kms on it since the last post.

2lt diff`s fit 1600 and 1800 g-boxes
just swap ring gears
you than keep your low gearing
(or you could use a aftermarket super diff)

So hotdog008 does that mean they are available for the 2L air cooled kombi GB's (T2)???
Kombidad had one fitted to the later T3 kombi GB and said they were not available for the earlier GB's.
Confused.

Hotdog008 is correct. My engine is one of the last of the 2L air cooled engines. 82 is when they changed to water cooled and though my kombi is the squarer shape it is still aircooled. I would assume that using the later diff as suggested a 2L is no problem.

glad to here your lock-right diff is going fine.
i would be interested to see if they are still avaliable
when i contacted weddle industries who made these (hoping for a better price)
they told me
"Sorry, but these have been out of production for about 3 years now. There are no plans to make them again because we were not completely happy with the performance and durability of these units.Regards,

Hey guys,
Do they make the lockrites for 002 1800 boxes as well?
I have also toyed with rear traction control or getting a similar sized jap Lsd and machining it to fit.
What do you think?

Just a quick update. I have recently put another 5,000 kms on the diff in the Flinders Ranges, Big Desert and Grampians and the diff worked brilliantly. That's about 100,000 ks to date since it was fitted and has been driven in all sorts of conditions.
