the beetle was an almost complete ground up restoration with a lot of modifications and would have been a bit hard for her to look after

just tell your daughter that you need to test run it for for the next 30 years or so just to make sure it is safe.

and your daughter will appreciate you for it. as she will know you will look after it and one day she will get a beautifull piece of history. you might even be able to pass it off as a family airloom as you will probably have it for a while...😀
