Desert Bug moving to the Desert!!!! Graveyard must be cleared by 31st May!!!!

I am selling up and moving to remote North East West Australia on the top end of the Canning Stock Route and The Tanami Track on the edges of The Great Sandy Desert and The Tanami Desert, always wanted to visit the Kimberley Region. The Graveyard needs to be cleared by the end of May, (sorry its such short notice) apart from a couple of special projects that we are keeping the rest has to go!! There is currently about 60 plus VWs (all aircooled), approx 30 Beetles ('53 oval thru to '72 Superbug), few Type 3s, few Splitty singlecabs, a couple of Splitty shells, and a heap of Bays. Most have had bits stripped off them in the process of keeping others on the road and building projects. Have a lot of tyres and rims of varying sizes. Due to the time frame I have I will not be able to spend time sending Pics to people or sitting in front of the computer so the best way to contact Me is by phone: Between 8am and 9pm on 0417 388 738 during the week or 0354 361 562 at home. The deal is: -make a phone call -come and look (or arrange someone to come and look for you) -find what you want -find me (I'll be packing) -make an offer -I accept offer -You take goods and are happy -I wont have time to be pulling bits off and organising freight or postage etc. What happens to anything that is left I shudder to think. Unfortunately it's all got to go!! To get an idea of what might be in the Graveyard do a search on this site for posts by Desert Bug and look for posts about Graveyard. Well there's a few gaps in the Graveyard but not enough. Unfortunately anything that is left will be crushed and sold as scrap on Monday 31st May. could you sell it as a job lot to a pick and pay type wrecker? at least we'd keep panels and stuff in circulation, and you'd probably get more money for it than as scrap metal!?!?

do you have a straightish 76 beetle? my girly needs a car. should be a dub methinks. can be without engine, but needs to be reasonably straight. then she can sit in it and make "vroom" noises until it's fixed up 😀

Sorry no '76 beetles. but theres a heap of 68 to 71 beetles there,
you could alwas do an IRS conversion on one of them.

If anyone is going up there to look at some parts, why not take a trailer with you and just bring the whole vehicle back with you.

I am not in a position to get any bodies or parts, but if I was it would be nice to have a whole Beetle for parts whenever I need one of those doodads or whatsits

Should get out there mate....well worth it to go through all the nostalgia. There are some ovals, but because cars arent being sold whole, ppl are taking whatever they want so i would be quick....now noone steal my red bug he he.

G'day all,

I wont be on mobile after the 19/5/04 as I'll be handing it in along with the keys to the Company car tomorrow afternoon. The end of 15 year period of Company cars and Mobile phones and I've travelled approx 1,300,000 ks in that 15 years. Bugger!! I'll have to start paying for fuel and phone now!!

There's only 13 days left before the end of May, then it's "C" day. Come on I don't want to do it but its all got to go.

My only Phone number now is 0354 361 562, I'll be at home cleaning up and packing till we leave in early June.

There is still a heap of Beetles, '63 Notch $600, '70s Fastback $300, 3 '70s Wagons, heap of Bays ('70 to '77), heaps of gearboxes, Dead engines, a very good detailed 36hp engine $800 (comes with good restorable '61 Beetle body with adjustable front beam).

Have a pair of 31x10.5x15 Mud Racer tyres with Tractor tread, cost $350 each to have made, $200 for pair, pick up only.
Pair of 11x15 Mickey Thomson Baja King Offroad Racing tyres, cost $400 ea. sell for $200 for pair, pick up only.

Have heaps of S/hand offroad tyres 15s + 16s, and 165x15s.

4 of 14x7 Globe mags.

I'm at 217 Pierces Rd Sebastian, Victoria (near Bendigo).
