Driving down FTG Road this morning and the wind ripped the (vinyl) roof right off my fastback. Splittychick and I went back and had a look but we couldn't find it.

Does anybody know of a good auto trimmer in the SE suburbs who has experience with car roofs. I want to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Bad luck man. I deal with a guy in Richmond off Bridge Rd just before Punt. He works from home but he is a professional. If you are not worried about a receipt, you might get it done cheaper. I can give you his details if you want

Yeah, right off.

I shit me pants and the guy whose aerial the flying roof almost ripped off, peed on his plush commodore upholstry too.

How much does a new commodore aerial cost to replace?

The aerial would be about $20 for manual type $80 for electric aerial, or an insert for the electric aerial $49.

If it is electric and just needs the insert it is easy to replace, but you will have to delve under the guard splashshield/ liner and remove the kick panel to replace the aerial assembly.

Splittychick went searching after dropping me at work. We knew the general area where it blew off so it only took her a few minutes to find it.

There was a story on the news about a truck which had a container blown off the back of it so I don't feel so bad. The wind today was really bad.

Car Trims - thanks for that. Might give them a call and see if they can do something to make sure this doesn't happen again, even in really bad wind.

I was determined to find it so went back to the general area & just wandered around. It had wedged it self on the side of the road between the embankment & one of those square concrete drain covers.Theres a lot of swamp sort of areas in the area in the farm properties so luckily it didn't make it over the fence in there.😉
