indirectly..my dad bought a kombi in oct 1969 from smith's motors in fairfield vic. i went with him to pick it up and i still remember the new car smell and the soft touch handbrake handle. it was definitely a sweeet day.
eventually it was the car i learnt to drive in,he eventually sold it to someone in essendon who converted it into a camper.
i had a job that used to take me there occasionally and i would always drive past there house to check it out...does that make me a stalker?
last time i saw it was in the mid 80s
it was pale blue and it's reg was KKB 773 i wonder if it is still around?

Well similar to Dubnut.
We still have and drive the beetle my GF's Aunt bought new in '74.
It's an L bug with factory servicing till the mid 80's.
Still going strong with no major work done (it's only done ~150,000km).
