compliance plates

Does anyone know where the factory compliance plate should be situated on a 70' model kombi van? My 70 model dual cab has a plate behind drivers seat on the panel, but the van doesn't have anything behind the seats. Thanks.

compliance plates didnt get introduced until late '71, early '72.

on a kombi from memory it was behind one of the front seats?
