I applied for a job, a permanent job. When I went to the 2nd interview they said I was in the final 6 competing for 3 jobs and I would hear back friday(last friday) So today I email and ask what is going on, since they hadnt called. And I get this...

A mate is still sitting by the phone waiting for phone calls due 3 weeks ago. No way can I do that. You say friday, maybe you were sick friday so you call monday. What is so hard? Send an email. Either "see you monday 9 o'clock" , "theres been a hold up" or "sorry you missed out, better luck next time". None of this, I am discussing wortk experience shit. When I left uni I put my CV in to heaps of recruiting agencies. Always got a letter back saying thank you and they'll find me a position asap. Didn't hear anything more.
Then saw a job I thought I fitted the description, being advertised by one of the agencies. Rang them up and said what are you doing, you should have called me cos that job suits me exactly. Anyway they had misplaced my CV in someone elses in tray so I would've been lost in there system forever. I eventually got the job though, and they got commissioning for finding my job off my employer, even though I had to tell them to pull their finger out.
So about 1-2 year into my job I get a call from one of the other agencies, "we found a position we think you would be suitable for". I explained that after the very extended period I had actually found a job, thanks anyway.
Having just bagged out recruiting agencies, my girlfriend works at one 🙂
Well the company is not quite as large as McDonalds but it is big enough to have offices in every state, and every continent and be market leader in several countries (so they say).
I'm near 34 years old, aint doing no steenking freebie work experience for anyone.

At the second interview they mentioned something about working with the system at one of the customers sites for a while, as well as doing some structured training. The missus reckons thats what it is, they dont mean work experience like I interpret work experience. I'll ring tomorrow and find out. I'll do work experience for $20/hr.
BTW picture me getting out of a $400 shitter kombi wearing a $600 business suit. Bet that looks a bit bizarre.

maybe they are giving the other people 3 weeks trial then if they are no good they will give you a bell, just thinking back when i was in a job and the boss set on three of us then gradually got rid of us all and the permanent people didnt know why he let us go? but then again he was a senile old fart:thumb
well if it makes you feel any better i had a job interview a month ago and never heard back from them, not even a letter. but i had an interview last week and i have another one somewhere else tomorrow so fingers crossed.
the thing that i get shitty about is when you send your resume somewhere and then you just dont hear anything at all from them, not even we have recieved your resume and we will consider it in the next few weeks or something.

"Definitely want you to do work experience here in the office in September, I'll call you closer to then." Believe it or not. Then if I am good boy they will look at hiring me and placing me out in the big world on location after that.
I am not happy at all. not a bit. They advertise for a programmer, during the interview they downplay that to help desk for 2 years then programmer, now they want work experience. Scammers.
