Did anyone catch the World According to Bush? Man, that is a fascinating insight into possibly the most corrupt regime in the world... Proof enough for me that capitalism is crap, and that true communism might just be better... In the course of time, American foreign policy from the last 20 years must be viewed in the same light as Hitlers Germany, and Stalins Russia!!!!
Anyone seen farenheit 9/11 yet?

In theory Communism in it's purest form is quite good and has a very christian feel to it, but the problem is that while in theory it sounds good, in practice it will never work as the person in charge or the government will always want a bit more for themselves and/or be power power hungry.

Yeah that was a really good program. I tried to find transcripts on the SBS web site, but the site search thing doesn't work and it seems a bit chaotic.

I saw the Denton Clinton interview the other day that reminded me that not all americans are dumb hypocritical narrowminded money-grubbers. How dodgy is bush, and how stupid are we for blindly following his machiavellian schemes? Friggin' howard, what a knobhead... of course, in a democracy we'd have some serious opposition, but in our 'system' we've got 'labour'! Oh joy!

If anyone does know where transcripts might be found, I'd appreciate it if you'd whack up an address. Oh, there's a word for a system of government which is run by money (ie - the richest gets what they want, reminds me of the US). What is this word?

Cheers folks,
Aurel

Here's a good site on the program

http://www.flachfilm.com/film.php?id_film=79&lang=en#

I loved Karl Marx when I studied sociology....it just the way communist leaders misused his ideas or theories...It happens in all forms of politics....Capitalism had it's roots in Protestant Ethics believe it or not....Religion again!!

Everything seems to get used and abused :jesus

Egos and power plays destroy any good.....and it's always the ordinary folk trying to survive who suffer....

Well...my 2 cents worth🙂

hey since we're talkin about various governing styles and all, get these situations a mate was telling me about last night!!!

he's worked in oil fields all over the world, and he was telling me about his culture shock when he first worked in russia...

out of the major cities there is no car theft!!! the punishment for stealing a car is being beaten to death in the town centre!! outside the major cities there is no police stations or courts, if a crime is comitted then you are bought before village elders/peers and they punish you how they see fit. as in russia cars are a precious commodity and a few familys usually put in for one vehicle (there is no insurance either!!) car theft is a major crime!!!

if you happen to be caught by regioanl police or border patrol in another area apart from the one your certified to work and live in, then you get thrown in the clink where your family or friends are responsible with providing you with EVERYTHING! not a dime is spent on you by the govenment!! and in those regional lock up's the travelling magistrate only comes around once a year so you stay locked up until then, innocent or not.
due to the weather (down to below 40) and not being able to contact anyone upon lock up, many people die and are simply thrown outside in the snow.........

doesnt this just blow you away??? its amazing............
everything dies baby, thats a fact..
maybe everything that dies one day comes back..
put your make up on and your hair up pretty..
and meet me tonight in Atlantic city..

I found this famous quote which George BushW. runs his country by. Take note of who wrote it:

“Naturally, the common people don’t want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.”

Quite interesting airfooled. I wonder though _when_ this was the case? Still a reality? (Not doubting, just curious).

Didn't some guy say that the Bush propaganda tactics were the same as Goebbels? He was the Nazi propaganda minister! I made sure to read the quote, oasis, before the name, following. Nice one! I love surprises.

Edit: oh yeah I forgot. I saw yesterday (I think), some yank was saying how after the 11/9 attacks there was a global feeling of sympathy and even (!!) goodwill towards the US, and this yank was saying how annoyed he was that this had been squandered (by the bush regime) and anti-american sentiment was really high again.
