I KNOW SOMEBODY CONSIDERING A PURCHASE OF A 63 BEETLE THAT HAS BEEN IN THE SAME FAMILY SINCE IT WAS BOUGHT NEW...CURRENTLY 12MOS NSW REGO, NEW TIRES ASKING 3K....MAYBE CAN GET PHOTOS BUT THOUGHT I WOULD ASK IF THERE IS ANYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT THESE TO HELP HIM CONSIDER HIS PURCHASE

63 is a nice year because it still has the early bullet front turn signals, small popes nose licence plate light, last year for the ragtop and its also the same year as herbie.
I think 1963 was the best selling year for beetles in Australia.
If it is all original it sounds like a reasonable price - if there is no rust
A '63 is special to me because my first car was one!
They were the last with the small number plate light, and in the rest of the world were the last with the small side windows. German produced Beetles 64 and on used side windows the same size as our '68 and on 1500's.
1963 was also the last year until local full production ceased that Aussie Beetles were the same as the rest of the world.
I think there special.
Mine has the bigger indicators but the 1963 is really special.
Would you call a December 17 1962 bug a 1963 Bug?
Happy Dubbing, Will.
