its good to join a club, a club that suits you, you car style and also what you want ot do. I love being in a club, brings a whole more social side to owning a car. but i belong to numerous clubs, each ahs its own speciality, eg ones a vw club that does motor sport and also resonable tech minded, while another is very social and also memeber of other non vw clubs for motosport.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
I joined a club once, and became very dissatisfied after a year or two.
Not being negative, just telling you that there is two sides to every coin..
THE LOWEST WITH THE MOSTEST BLING BLING WINS!!
Any club has it's politics....go, make friends and contacts and don't go near the politics unless you choose to
It's a great way to talk VW & meet others into Vw's...
There are always people willing to help you in some way if you need or want it....
I'd recommend it🙂
all the clubs i have been in have politics, just got to saty out of it.

yeah i have heard there is so much politics in the clubs that people get turned of them ,i guess i am guilty of not joining one to make my own decision. i think id probably be more likely to join if there was a club that had more focus on the best of all aircoolers the type 2
Hi
Just dont commit to one club to start off with, have look around at all the other clubs in Sydney. Look at their future events calendar and see if there are club members your age with simllar interests, dont be put off by cars you see at the meetings, most of our club members drive other makes to meetings.

Down here in Vic it's pretty good...everyone seems to get on and they tolerate the differences well...
We have the daily drivers....the restorers......the modifyers the motor sports....cruisers....Meetings are good..and some people have multiple interests...old, modified...restored....cruising
We have a few forum members at the meetings😎
....commitment:thumb

yes clubs can be a bit political thats just the nature of people you just let it go past you and take it with a pinch of salt I have been in many car clubs over the last 25 years and the experiance has always been positive and the benifets greatly outway the negatives the vw club I'm in now is easy going and casual , the way it should be just a bunch of people with a common interest.
Remember the old saying
"You only get out what you put in"
or something like that
and
" there is good and bad in all"
and my favorite I tell my kids(shit young adults)
"Treat people how you want to be treated"
Just a few hope it helps
And for my vote clubs are good
Have a look at where their regular meetings are held too. I'm a member of a club, but their meetings are held further from where I live than I'd like to drive at the moment. I enjoy the Club mag though, and the membership is cheap.
Lost my damn club sticker though just when I wanted to put it on my car.
