I bought a 69 Kombi a while back and found industrial wall plaster in the base of both doors. I think the idea was to hide the cancer. The funny thing was the area was well prepared and the paint applied correctly.

Bolt heads for the top point of seat belts right through the door pillar...so the head is on outside surface of the pillar :cry

This is a common thing...I've seen it on others:jesus

Thank goodness they are now gone!!:party

2 dodgy's....

Bought a 62 Kombi that looked great, but when I got under it later the owner had cut the rust out of the floor and shoved handfuls of fibreglass resin into their place.....but they were huge globs, not even smoothed out...about cricket ball sized. Argh. Didn't pass QLD roadworthy.

Then we later bought a 65 bug...cleaning out the brake system we found concrete in the brake fluid reservoir, as well as two nails and a rivet. Never really worked that one out.

cop killers? I don't think so. they were .22 cal hollow points right? You can still buy them and are designed to shatter on impact with bone or hard muscle to create more damage insidethe target. They actually penetrate worse than solid shot and would be less effective in penetrating a bulletproof/flak/kevlar vest. and if it's a .22 round, even though everyone underestimates them (more people in the world are killed accidentally by them than any other calibre cartridge) as they will travel 1-2 kms and still be lethal they would never penetrate a bulletproof vest. your talking about a bullet .22 of an inch in diametre and even though it's moving at high speeds it doesn't have enough inertia to punch through. So no, whatever your mate said, as far as I know he's wrong. I'm not trying to be rude and say "ha ha! your wrong!" or anything, just trying to get the facts right.

on the subject of firearms though, I found in both my Dub and my brothers one LIVE .22 high velocity rounds in the fuse holder with alfoil wrapped around them! Although both the dubs did come from the same owner and he didnt' strike me as the brightest person. Later on we found two packets of .22's under the back seat so we used them for rabbit shooting.

in my 1960 bug.... got the same seat belt anchorage situation as jen... hope to one day fix them up but can't afford it atm...

at some time my car was involved in a fender bender...and I now have two different headlight lenses...and the front fender now doesn't quite meet the running board...

the original back bumper is missing....was replaced with a bumper for a later bug with the original accerssory overriders welded in...very special 😀

My Race Baja had a Squash racket under the Parcel shelf.

My white baja had 2 love letters under the carpet.
(Strange because he was married)

My Land cruiser had a Porn Mag under the passenger seat and a Sidchrome Quarter Drive Socket set in the back under a rear seat.

I popped the cover off the Steering wheel on my old Truck once, because I was bored while waiting some where. When I turned it over it said NOSEY C... hahaha like they knew I would look there one day.

And my XR8 had nothing. But I think it belonged to the Mafia.
Because the previous owner was an Italian and lived near Griffith.
(maybe I'm getting carried away) 🙂

Yeah and 22 Hollow points, I agree with Boozer ...........
